Accessibility

Nome Technologies wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or with motion reduced.

Conformance status

We build this site to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. The site is partially conformant: it is built to that standard and tested against it, but it has not yet been audited by an independent third party, so we do not claim full conformance.

We would rather say that plainly than publish a conformance claim we have not had verified.

What we have done

  • A skip link, as the first thing a keyboard reaches, so navigation can be bypassed
  • A visible focus outline on every interactive element, for keyboard users only
  • Semantic headings, landmarks and lists, so structure is conveyed and not only drawn
  • Text and interface colors checked for contrast against the background they sit on
  • Touch targets on small screens sized well beyond the minimum
  • Layouts that reflow to a phone and survive text being enlarged, without horizontal scrolling
  • No audio or video that starts on its own
  • Decorative animation marked as decorative, hidden from assistive technology, and stopped entirely when the operating system asks for reduced motion

Known limitations

We would rather list these than leave someone to discover them:

  • No independent audit yet. Testing to date is our own, using keyboard navigation, screen readers and automated checks. An external review is planned.
  • The animated graphic on the home page. It carries no information and is hidden from screen readers, and it does not run when reduced motion is requested. It is still a moving element on the page for anyone who has not set that preference.
  • Documents we did not author. Where we link to a standard outside this site, we do not control its accessibility.

Tell us about a barrier

If something here is hard or impossible to use, we want to hear about it — that is the fastest way for it to get fixed.

Write to support@nometechnologies.com. Please say which page you were on and what happened. We aim to reply within five business days.

If you are reporting a barrier in the STYL. app rather than this website, the same address reaches us, and the app’s own accessibility is described on the STYL. page.

Technical information

This site relies on HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and on WAI-ARIA where a native element cannot express the role. It is assessed by self-evaluation, on desktop and mobile, with keyboard only and with a screen reader.
